PARTS OF SPEECH

বাক্যে ব্যবহৃত প্রত্যেকটি শব্দকে Parts of Speech বলা হয়। ইংরেজিতে Parts of Speech আট প্রকার। সেগুলো হলো :- 1. Noun 2. Pronoun 3. Adjective 4. Verb 5. Adverb 6. Preposition 7. Conjunction 8. Interjection

01. Noun

Classification of Noun:

Noun কে পাঁচ ভাগে বিভক্ত করা হয়েছে। সেগুলো হলো :-
i) Proper Noun : যে সকল Word দ্বারা বিশেষ ব্যক্তি (person) বা স্থান (place) - এর নাম বোঝায় তাকে Proper Noun বলে। যেমন - Hasan, Rita, Dhaka, Khulna, Bangladesh etc.
ii) Common Noun : যে সকল Word দ্বারা শ্রেণিবাচক বা জাতিবাচক সাধারন নাম বোঝায় তাকে Common Noun বলে। যেমন - boy, girl, city, king etc.
iii) Collective Noun : যে সকল Word দ্বারা সমজাতীয় কিছু ব্যক্তি বা বিষয়ের সমষ্টিকে বোঝায় তাকে Collective Noun বলে। যেমন - class, committee, jury, group, team, flock etc.
iv) Meterial Noun : যে সকল Word দ্বারা এমন পদার্থের নাম নির্দেশ করা হয় যা গণনা করা যায় না, শুধু পরিমাপ করা যায়, তাকে Meterial Noun বলে। যেমন - wood, air, milk etc.
v) Abstract Noun : যে সকল Word দ্বারা বস্তুনিরপেক্ষ গুণ, কাজ বা অবস্থার নাম উল্লেখ করে তাকে Abstract Noun বলে। যেমন - quality> beauty, honesty; state> youth, slavery; action> laughter, movement etc.

Countable Noun and Uncountable Noun

গণনার ভিত্তিতে noun দুই ভাগে ভাগ করা যায়। যথা :-
1. Countable noun: যেসব noun এর গণনা করা যায়, তাদেরকে countable noun বলে। countable noun এর plural হয়। যেমন :- book, city, stars etc.
2. Uncountable noun: যেসব noun এর গণনা করা যায় না, তাদেরকে uncountable noun বলে। uncountable noun এর plural হয় না। যেমন :- water, honesty, air, news etc.
